Forecasting The 2024-25 St. Louis Blues’ NHL Season

I decided to preview and analyze this year’s St. Louis Blues team to see what their season could look like this year.  I assessed their preseason roster, and here is a look at who I think will make their team, as well as how their season will fare this year.

The Blues had won the Stanley Cup under then head coach Craig Berube in 2019, but the Blues have been in a slump, as they have missed the playoffs in two consecutive seasons, and they fired him midway through last season.  The new coach Drew Bannister won 30 games in 54 regular season games, while Robert Thomas scored 86 points last season, so the Blues have shown some promise for the upcoming season.  However, defenseman Torey Krug will be out, and others will need to step up in his place.  Regardless, it should be an interesting season.

(For a reference on a previous Blues’ team, this was how I projected the 2021-22 St. Louis Blues, and I projected them as a very talented team that would lose in the second round, which was what happened that year.)  Anyways, without further ado, here is how I rate this year’s St. Louis Blues’ players and team for the 2024-25 season.

Star Players:

C Robert Thomas, LW Pavel Buchnevich, RW Jordan Kyrou

Robert Thomas is a tremendously skilled offensive center that has excelled on both ends of the ice, and he has shown that he can rack up assists in games.  Pavel Buchnevich is a skilled, two-way wing that has steadily been one of the Blues’ top point-getters.  Jordan Kyrou is a very skilled offensive player that has really excelled at producing for the Blues, but he will need to continue to improve on the offensive end.  All three amongst them are All-Star candidates, and Robert Thomas seems to be the surest bet amongst all of the Blues’ players to make the NHL All-Star team in 2025.

Robert Thomas scored 86 points and was quietly one of the best players in the NHL last season, but the Blues finished 5th in the Central Division in 2024 and missed the playoffs last year.  Still, Thomas is an emerging star that should be a fun player to watch this season.  (Photo: Scott Rovak/NHLI via Getty Images, via St. Louis Game Time)

2024 (OTT): 72 GP, 11 G, 24 A, 35 PTS, -4, 51 PIM, Even Strength Corsi 48.5

Mathieu Joseph has continued to improve as a forward in this league, and he is a skilled playmaker that can pass the puck, and has the potential to be a very solid winger on both ends of the ice.  He could be expected to net plenty of playing time this season, and if he can continue to build on from last season, he could be a solid forward this year.

Expected 2025 NHL Rating: 2 stars
Projected 2025 Role: Top 9 Forward

2024 (CBJ): 78 GP, 12 G, 18 A, 30 PTS, -5, 38 PIM, Even Strength Corsi 48.9%

Texier is a skilled forward that can pass the puck or put some pucks in the net.  He’ll help the team offensively, but he isn’t very good at faceoffs, so he may be more suited to playing out on the wing.  Still, his versatility and skill set may make him a solid player on the one of the back two lines for this team.

Expected 2025 NHL Rating: 2 stars
Projected 2025 Role: 3rd or 4th Line Forward

2024 (DAL): 74 GP, 7 G, 12 A, 19 PTS, +0, 20 PIM, Even Strength Corsi 54.2%

Expected 2025 NHL Rating: 2 stars
Projected 2025 Role: 3rd or 4th Line Center

2024 (STL): 82 GP, 14 G, 7 A, 21 PTS, -3, 30 PIM, Even Strength Corsi 40.0%

The St. Louis Blues' Defensemen (8*, 7 Healthy Defenseman):

Justin Faulk has been a fairly solid defenseman for the Blues and will likely be their best defenseman this season, but while the Blues have plenty of serviceable role players, they seem to be missing an elite defenseman from their roster that they have had years ago.  (Photo: Getty Images, via NHLPA)

Projected 2025 Role: Top 6 Defenseman

D Torey Krug
2024 (STL): 77 GP, 4 G, 35 A, 39 PTS, -31, 32 PIM, Even Strength Corsi: 48%

Expected 2025 NHL Rating: 2 stars
Projected 2025 Role: 3rd Pairing or Depth Defenseman

The St. Louis Blues' Goalies (2):

Jordan Binnington rebounded from a disastrous 2023 season by having a quietly solid 2024 season, and Binnington is an above average goaltender in the NHL right no.  That said, his sterling 2019 run to help the Blues win the Stanley Cup and 2020 All-Star appearance seems almost like a lifetime ago.

(Photo: Jeff Curry/USA Today Sports, via Buffa’s Buffet Substack)

G Jordan Binnington
2024 (STL): 57 GP, 28-21-5, 2.84 GAA, 91.3 SV%, 90 GA%-

He was one of the best young goalies, and he was able to lead the Blues to win the 2019 Stanley Cup as a rookie goaltender.  He’s fallen off a bit in the years following his Stanley Cup win, but Binnington rebounded from a lackluster 2023 campaign with a solid 2024 season, and has been a fairly solid netminder recently.

Expected 2025 NHL Rating: 2.5 stars
Projected 2025 Role: Starting Goaltender

2024 (STL): 30 GP, 15-12-1, 2.65 GAA, 91.3 SV%, 90 GA%-

He is a tall, young goalie that played well in a backup role, and he could challenge Binnington for a starting spot this year, and he has a bright future in St. Louis.

Expected 2025 NHL Rating: 2 stars (3.5 stars potential)
Projected 2025 Role: Backup Goaltender

The St. Louis Blues' Head Coach:

Drew Bannister did a commendable job as the interim head coach last season, and he is hoping to build off of that to try to get the Blues to the playoffs in 2025.

2021 (STL): 54 GP, 30-19-0-5, 65 PTS, 0-0 in the playoffs
Coaching Career: 54 GP, 30-19-0-5, 65 PTS, 0-0 in the playoffs

After Berube was surprisingly fired by the Blues after a couple of lukewarm seasons following his 2019 Stanley Cup win with the Blues, Drew Bannister was hired as the interim head coach, and he did a good job of motivating the Blues to win more games than expected down the stretches.  The Blues didn’t quite make the playoffs in 2024, but Bannister proved to be a more than capable head coach that has sound tactics, and the Blues rewarded him by making him the full-time head coach for the upcoming season.

Expected 2025 NHL Rating: 2.5 stars (3.5 stars potential)

Projected 2025 Role: Head Coach of the St. Louis Blues

The St. Louis Blues’ 2022 Season Projection:

Ceiling (Peak Projection): 2nd Round Playoff Exit
Floor (Lowest Level Outcome): Miss The Playoffs
Most Likely Season Outcome: Barely Miss The Playoffs

The Blues’ chances to win it all this year are not very high at all.  According to VegasInsider.com, in looking at where various sites rate their Blues’ chances, they have the St. Louis Blues going anywhere from being a 50-to-1 to a 75-to-1 odds to win the Stanley Cup in 2025.  And as the Blues have only won one Stanley Cup in their entire NHL history dating back to 1967, it doesn’t seem like it would be a very good bet to bet on the Blues to win the Cup in 2025, unless if you have a lot of money at your disposal and also feel like that would be a good bet.

As a Blues’ fan, I was tempted to rate this team as a playoff team in 2025, but after looking carefully at the group of defensemen and goalies, and as they don’t have an elite player at either position, especially with Binnington no longer the elite goalie that he was five years ago, it seems likely that the Blues could miss the playoffs once again this season in the tough and competitive Western Conference.  From a fan perspective, I’m inclined to rate the 2025 Blues’ team as a future playoff team, but after examining their roster extensively, especially in regards to their defense, objectively, I think this team probably will wind up missing the playoffs.

The Blues will be competitive, and they have a solid first two lines, as Robert Thomas, Pavel Buchnevich, Jordan Kyrou, and Brayden Schenn should provide the bulk of their scoring this season.  However, I’m concerned about their defense, and their lack of high-end talent at the other positions.  This team doesn’t seem to be as deep as the previous teams from 2019-22, but the Blues should compete for a back end playoff spot, and they will be entertaining to watch, especially at home.

They also have a couple of solid prospects that could get call-ups.  Dalibor Dvorsky is a 19-year old center that had a tremendous season in the WHL last year and has NHL All-Star potential, and Aleksanteri Kaskimaki is a 20-year old center that held his own in the tough SM-Liiga in Finland last season.  Also, 23-year old defenseman, Samuel Johannesson is a very skilled, offensive minded defenseman that played very well in the SHL, and he has the ability to make an immediate impact in the NHL.  Also, 6-4, 21-year old center Dylan Peterson is a two-way center that could project to be a solid mid-tier forward at the NHL level.

As for those that I have as barely missing the roster, the roster crunch probably will have Dvorsky and Johannesson start out in the minors, presumably in the WHL and AHL respectively, but Dvorsky could end up playing 9 games similar to Jake Neighbours did back in the 2021-22 season, when he was a 19-year old professional hockey player.  Also, Nathan Walker is another player that could possibly make the roster, as he is a versatile, defensive-minded forward that also is solid at winning face-offs.  Matthew Kessel is a defensive defenseman that could see some playing time in the big leagues this season.

For me, I'll stay optimistic at the St. Louis Blues' chances while trying to keep a healthy dose of realism at the same time.   Realistically speaking, this team probably won’t win the Stanley Cup, but if you’re a fan like me, it still would be a good experience to attend at least one or more hockey games at the Enterprise Center this season.

Anyways, thanks for reading, and the NHL season will begin tomorrow on October 8th.  Thanks for reading.

Forecasting the 2021-22 St. Louis Blues' NHL Season

As the season is about to start soon, I will look at the 2021-22 St. Louis Blues’ team and preview them to see how their roster is shaping up.  They won the 2019 Stanley Cup, and have been a solid playoff team since then.  They have made strong moves in the offseason, and they have picked up strong scoring forwards in Pavel Buchnevich and Brandon Saad through trades and free agency in the offseason.  I also went to Cap FriendlyHockeydb.com, and Hockey-Reference for research purposes in trying to decide who would likely make the St. Louis Blues' team this year.

Here is a look at the players that will most likely be on their team this season.

Ryan O'Reilly is one of the best players in the NHL, and he is a strong all-around forward that could lead the St. Louis Blues to another title run in 2022.

The St. Louis Blues' Forwards (14):

2021 (STL): 56 GP, 24 G, 30 A, 54 PTS, +26, 18 PIM, Even Strength Corsi: 53.2%

Ryan O’Reilly is a very good, first-line center that has strong all-around skills.  He is a gifted scorer that passes well and can put the puck in the net, and he is also a gritty player that plays shut down defense.  He is terrific at handling faceoffs, and he is a leader that will guide this team to many victories.

RW Vladimir Tarasenko
2021 (STL): 24 GP, 4 G, 10 A, 14 PTS, -7, 0 PIM, Even Strength Corsi: 47.7%

Tarasenko is a super skilled winger that can really put the puck in the net, and he can be a very good, two-way forward when he’s on the ice.  However, he’s had trouble staying on the ice as he’s been injured a lot in the past two seasons, which is concerning.  When he’s on his game, he’s a definite All-Star and top-line forward.

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 3 stars
Projected 2022 Role: Top 6 Forward

LW Brandon Saad
2021 (COL): 44 GP, 15 G, 9 A, 24 PTS, +1, 12 PIM, Even Strength Corsi 57.1%

Projected 2022 Role: Top 9 Forward

RW/C Robert Thomas
2021 (STL): 33 GP, 3 G, 9 A, 12 PTS, +1, 10 PIM, Even Strength Corsi: 49.3%

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 2.5 stars (3.5 stars potential)
Projected 2022 Role: Top 9 Forward

C Tyler Bozak
2021 (STL): 31 GP, 5 G, 12 A, 17 PTS, -3, 10 PIM, Even Strength Corsi: 42.8%

Bozak is a solid center that does a good job of passing the puck, and he is an offensively skilled playmaker that does a very good job of winning faceoffs. He’ll need to improve his puck possession and defense, but he is a solid second tier center in this league.

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 2.5 stars
Projected 2022 Role: Top 9 Forward

C Oskar Sundqvist
2021 (STL): 28 GP, 4 G, 5 A, 9 PTS, -6, 14 PIM, Even Strength Corsi: 40.9%

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 1.5 stars (2.5 stars potential)
Projected 2022 Role: 4th Line Forward, or 1st Line AHL forward

While St. Louis Blues' fans may undoubtedly miss the veteran presence of Alex Pietrangelo and Jay Bouwmeester, who were a really good defensive tandem that helped the Blues win the 2019 Stanley Cup, Torey Krug is a speedy, feisty defenseman that is one of the best at his position in the NHL right now.

The St. Louis Blues' Defensemen (7):

2021 (STL): 56 GP, 7 G, 18 A, 25 PTS, +11, 35 PIM, Even Strength Corsi: 48.5%

He got off to a slow start when he first got traded, but he really bounced back in his second year with the Blues.  He finally hit his stride, because he got a steady role as a top 4 defenseman.  He’s solid on both ends of the ice.

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 3 stars
Projected 2022 Role: Top 4 Defenseman

D Colton Parayko
2021 (STL): 32 GP, 2 G, 10 A, 12 PTS, -2, 14 PIM, Even Strength Corsi: 46.5%

Parayko is a tall, hard-shot defenseman that has been mostly used a shutdown defender in the last couple of years, so his offensive production has taken a hit.  He could chip in offensively if they need him, because he has one of the hardest shots in hockey.

I'm a firm believer in his abilities, and he is a vastly talented defenseman that can play really well on both ends of the ice, but he's taken a hit statistically over the years because he mostly has been used as a shutdown defenseman that plays against the opponents' top players in the defensive zones.

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 3 stars
Projected 2022 Role: Top 4 Defenseman

D Marco Scandella
2021 (STL): 49 GP, 3 G, 6 A, 9 PTS, +14, 24 PIM. , Even Strength Corsi: 44.1%

He is a steady, defensive defenseman.  He has good chemistry with Parayko, and he is a good position defender.  He’s limited offensively, but he doesn’t do too many careless things with the puck, and he tends to make decisions in games.

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 2 stars
Projected 2022 Role: Top 4 Defenseman

D Robert Bortuzzo
2021 (STL): 40 GP, 1 G, 4 A, 5 PTS, -3, 47 PIM, Even Strength Corsi: 50.2%

He is a right-shot, hard-hitting defenseman that provides a physical presence for the team.  He is a tough, gritty player that isn’t afraid to lay out the big, heavy hits.  Sometimes, that will land him in the box, but he is a good player to have on the third pairing.

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 2 stars
Projected 2022 Role: 3rd Pairing Defenseman

D Niko Mikkola
2021 (STL): 30 GP, 1 G, 2 A, 3 PTS, -11, 11 PIM, Even Strength Corsi: 43.3%

He is a young defenseman with size and some mobility.  He’s generally been pretty solid defensively.  He hasn’t provided quite as much on offense, but he could be a solid back pairing defenseman.

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 1.5 stars (2 stars potential)
Projected 2022 Role: 3rd Pairing Defenseman

D Jake Walman
2021 (STL): 24 GP, 1 G, 1 A, 2 PTS, -7, 8 PIM, Even Strength Corsi: 50.6%

He is also a young defenseman, and he provides puck movement and some offensive skills.  He’s adequate on the defensive end, as he’s not a liability, but he’s also not nearly as physical as Bortuzzo or Mikkola.  If the team needs some more speed or skill, Walman could sub in for either Bortozzo or Mikkola.

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 1.5 stars (2 stars potential)
Projected 2022 Role: 3rd Pairing Defenseman

When Jordan Binnington is on his game, he can be an unstoppable force in the net.  He had a tremendous year in 2019, but he's been a bit inconsistent recently as the team's starting goaltender since then.

The St. Louis Blues' Goalies (2):

G Jordan Binnington
2021 (STL): 18-14-8, 2.65 GAA, 91 SV%

He was one of the best young goalies, and he was able to lead the Blues to win the 2019 Stanley Cup as a rookie goaltender.  He’s been a little bit inconsistent lately since the Stanley Cup win, but when he’s on, he can be one of the best goalies in the league.

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 3.5 stars
Projected 2022 Role: 1st string goalie

G Ville Husso
2021 (STL): 9-6-1, 3.20 GAA, 89.3 SV%

After spending years in the minors, despite having a strong track record prior to being selected in the NHL draft, Husso finally came up last year, but was fairly underwhelming overall as a rookie.  He got off to a really slow start, but he started to get a little more comfortable as the season progressed.  He ended up with a good win percentage, even though his other metrics were less than desirable.

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 1.5 stars (2 stars potential)
Projected 2022 Role: Backup goalie

Craig Berube had a terrific first season with the St. Louis Blues, as he led them to win the Stanley Cup in 2019, but the Blues have been bounced early in the playoffs for the past two seasons.

Head Coach:
Craig Berube
2021 (STL): 27-20-9, 0-4 in the playoffs
Coaching Career: 107-58-25, 18-21 in his playoff career, won the 2019 Stanley Cup

Craig Berube stormed onto the scene as an interim coach during the middle of the 2019 season to take over a then-floundering Blues squad, and he engineered a comeback to not only right the ship, but to guide them to a 2019 Stanley Cup championship.

He’s a good motivator that connects well with players.  Tactically, he did a masterful job in 2019, but his coaching decisions could be regarded as kind of questionable since then, as he doesn’t always make adjustments in the middle of the game.  He undoubtedly had his strongest playoff run in 2019, but the Blues were swept by the Colorado Avalanche in 2021, and they have been very disappointing in the playoffs in the past two seasons.

He may be at a crossroads in his career, as this could either be his chance to redeem himself as one of the best coaches in this league, or he may just be an average coach that got hot at the right time.  Because he led the Blues to win their first ever title, he will likely be the Blues’ head coach for a long time.

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 2.5 stars
Projected 2022 Role: Head Coach of the St. Louis Blues

The St. Louis Blues’ 2022 Season Projection:

Ceiling (Peak Projection): Win the 2022 Stanley Cup Championship
Floor (Lowest Level Outcome): 1st Round Playoff Exit
Most Likely Season Outcome: 2nd Round Playoff Exit

Overall, the 2022 St. Louis Blues looks to be a very good team, at least on paper.  They’ll still face stiff competition from other teams in this league, and head coach Craig Berube will need to demonstrate his coaching chops in order to help the Blues make a title run in the playoffs (or at least a deep run in the postseason) this season.  Otherwise, all of the moves could be for naught if it leads to another early playoff exit just like in the past two seasons.

As for what everyone else expects out of this team, Vegas Insider doesn’t seem to be very confident at all in the Blues’ chances to win the Cup in 2022.  It has the Blues at 35 to 1 odds.  It has the Colorado Avalanche as the favorite at 6 to 1 odds.  For diehard fans who have the disposable income gamble on sports games, if they wish to place bets on hockey, it could be an interesting strategic move for Blues fans to place money down on their team to win the title.

While I feel Vegas Insider underrates the Blues considerably, it also means that the hockey fans in the rest of the country may not view the Blues as optimistically as I do.  Anyways, I’m excited for the upcoming season, and it will be fun to watch the Blues play this year.  I’m hoping they can win the Stanley Cup this season.

For me, I'll stay optimistic at the St. Louis Blues' chances while trying to keep a healthy dose of realism at the same time. The Blues have a very good team, but I'm also well aware that there is plenty of competition, and that the Blues have won only one title in their 54-year history so far, so the odds may not be very high.  Anyways, it will be an exciting season, and I'll be rooting for the St. Louis Blues hard once again this year.  Thank you for reading.

Which of the St. Louis Blues' Players will get the 23rd spot on the roster, if any?

The St. Louis Blues are in training camp, and according to CapFriendly, there is one roster spot open.  They are still very close to the salary cap limit, so it's uncertain if they will actually fill the spot.  If they do, here are the candidates to help them fill the 23rd spot on their roster for the 2021-22 NHL season.

Klim Kostin (#37) is a strong candidate to make the Blues' roster this year.

Players Competing for the 23rd Spot:

LW Klim Kostin

2021 (STL): 2 GP, 0 G, 1 A, 1 PTS, -1, 0 PIM, Even Strength Corsi: 50%
2021 (KHL): 43 GP, 7 G, 11 A, 18 PTS, +6, 50 PIM

He had a really good year in 2020 playing in the KHL.    His team, Avangard Omsk, won the Gagarin Cup Championship over CSKA Moscow.  Kostin also had a solid showing in the playoffs.  He is a big, athletic forward that has two-way potential, and he could push for a regular spot in the lineup.  He also has a leg up on the other guys, because he knows the system, and the team has a invested a lot of time in him.

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 1.5 stars (2.5 stars potential)
Projected 2022 Role: 4th Line Forward, or 1st Line AHL forward

C Logan Brown

2021 (OTT): 1 GP, 0 PTS, +0, 2 PIM, Even Strength Corsi: 72.7%
2021 (AHL): 13 GP, 2 G, 7 A, 9 PTS, 8 PIM

Brown is a tall, 6-6 center that can pass the puck, and his tremendous size could allow him to be a strong enforcer on this team.  He has good defensive potential, though he lacks much game experience in the NHL.

(Side note: He was acquired from Ottawa in a trade for Zach Sanford, because the Blues were over the cap.)

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 1.5 stars (2.5 stars potential)
Projected 2022 Role: 4th Line Forward, or 1st Line AHL Forward

W James Neal

2021 (EDM): 29 GP, 5 G, 5 A, 10 PTS, -2, 11 PIM, Even Strength Corsi: 49.3%

He is a tough, feisty winger that can put the puck in the net, and he also does a fairly good job of carrying the puck on offense.  He’s an aging veteran that signed for the minimum, but he is a former star that could be a solid backline winger in this league.  Amongst the two Professional Tryout (PTO) players (him and Michael Frolik), James Neal likely has a realistic chance to make this roster.  It also helped that he scored a hat trick in his very first preseason game with the Blues.

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 1.5 stars
Projected 2022 Role: 4th Line Forward

Of all of the forwards on this list, Jake Neighbours may be the most talented player of this bunch, but he's also the youngest and has the least amount of experience out of all of the players on this list that are vying for the 23rd spot.
(Photo: Vaughn Ridley/Getty Images, via Fansided's Bleedin' Blue)

LW Jake Neighbours

2021 (WHL): 19 GP, 9 G, 24 A, 33 PTS, +29, 17 PIM

Jake Neighbors is a gifted scorer that does a tremendous job of passing the puck, and he does a very good job of helping his team score goals.  He is a solid, two-way forward, but he is also very inexperienced, as he has only played in the Canadian major juniors as his highest level in hockey.

While he may be the most talented out of the remaining players fighting for the 23rd spot, it might not be the best use of his skills, as he would certainly benefit from getting consistent playing time in juniors.

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 1.5 stars (3.5 stars potential)
Projected 2022 Role: 4th Line Forward, or 1st Line WHL Forward

C Dakota Joshua

2021 (STL): 12 GP, 1 G, 0 A, 1 PTS, -3, 7 PIM, Even Strength Corsi: 41%
2021 (AHL): 6 GP, 2 G, 1 A, 3 PTS, +2, 2 PIM

He is a back-line winger that can put the puck in the net on occasion, and he also has some defensive skills.  Joshua is also a terrific faceoff center that does a very good job of winning his faceoffs.  He’s in a crowded race to make this team, and while he may likely start the year in the AHL, he could get called up if there are injuries or otherwise later on in the season.

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 1.5 stars
Projected 2022 Role: 4th Line Forward, or top 6 AHL forward

W Nathan Walker

2021 (STL): 8 GP, 1 G, 0 A, 1 PTS, -4, 2 PIM, Even Strength Corsi: 43.6%
2021 (AHL): 4 GP, 2  G, 0 A, 2 PTS, -1, 6 PIM

Nathan Walker is a backline forward that can score some goals, but he’ll be in a crowded race to try to make the team.  Most likely, he’ll probably start the year in the AHL to begin the season.

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 1.5 stars

Projected 2022 Role: 4th Line Forward, or top 6 AHL forward

W Michael Frolik

2021 (MTL): 8 GP, 0 G, 0 A, 0 PTS, -3, 0 PIM, Even Strength Corsi: 55.8%

Frolik was a once a solid player that excelled as an offensive player, but though he’s been a solid two-way forward in this league, he’s been on a sharp decline, as he didn’t score a point in the NHL last season.  He is an aging veteran that was a good acquisition considering that he signed for the minimum, but it’s uncertain and even maybe unlikely that he’ll make this team.

Expected 2022 NHL Rating: 1 star
Projected 2022 Role: 4th Line Forward

So, there you have the list of candidates that are trying to make this team, and the most likely player that could be the 23rd guy on the St. Louis Blues' team could be Klim Kostin.  Amongst defensemen, Scott Perunovich might be the best prospect because he's been very productive at the collegiate level.  However, the Blues' group of defensemen are set.  Amongst goalies, Joel Hofer is facing the same issue, where they are also set at the two goalies.

It will be interesting to see how the roster shapes up, because there are a lot of qualified candidates, and there is maybe only one open spot on this roster.

The Offseason Hobbyist's 2nd Album, Hoopin' and Beatmakin' is Available Online

Hello readers, my new album, Hoopin' and Beatmakin' is available online, as I distributed it through the digital distributor Routenote.

https://open.spotify.com/album/2k1rhnog5FWTVrHWObAlxZ
The Offseason Hobbyist's 2nd album, Hoopin' and Beatmakin' was released on July 1, 2019, and is available on iTunes, YouTube, and Spotify.
Here are some links where you can find my new album:
Spotify
Apple Music/iTunes
YouTube
RouteNote
Shazam
Napster
Amazon
Amazon Music Unlimited
TIDAL
WiMP

It is a longer album than my first one that was released on August 31st, 2018, Fun Elevator Music.  My new album, Hoopin' and Beatmakin' is twenty minutes longer, a little more experimental, it's heavier in tone, which is a shift away from the lighter, happier first album.  Overall, I'm pleased with how it turned out.  Some tracks you may really like, some you may not, and some tracks you might find to be weird, but I'd highly suggest you to give it a spin and a listen.

If you guys like it, feel free to give me a follow on my Instagram at @TheOffseasonHobbyist.

Other Notes:

It was a terrific experience watching my hockey team, the St. Louis Blues win the Stanley Cup, the first in 52 years.  Jordan Binnington came up big, Ryan O'Reilly and Vladimir Tarasenko played like superstars, and everyone chipped in to help the team win the title.  Head coach Craig Berube did an awesome job, and I'm ecstatic that the Blues signed him to a 3-year extension.  GM Doug Armstrong was excellent in putting the team together, and it was an amazing feeling to watching my team win it all this year in 2019.

Also....

On a sad note, this might be the end of the line for my first album, Fun Elevator Music.  My old digital distributor, Stem Disintermedia, Inc. has dropped me from their services, and they will start the process of taking down my album on July 29th, so get your listens in on that while you can.  I may or may not give it a re-release this summer, as it had a good run with Stem.  I have since joined Routenote, which helped me release my latest album.

I still do have a couple of my songs that were on the first album that are also in the YouTube short film, "Smoke Out" by Nina Stakz, as the first one plays during a car scene, and I also have one late in the film.  It's a good short film, and it's a solid soundtrack that has all sorts of different styles from various musicians.  To watch and listen, you can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7hCEIZtjzo

8/28/20 Update: Just found out one of my songs, We've Just Landed...And It's Out Of This World is on Tik Tok!  Here is the link: https://www.tiktok.com/music/We've-Just-LandedAnd-It's-Out-Of-This-World-6763810162395318274

Anyways, that's all for now, and thanks for reading.
